Game Date: Apr 29, 2010

Score:
RAILROADERS: 15
CATOCTIN HIGH: 10

On Thursday night, the Brunswick Varsity Lacrosse team couldn't have asked for a better start to their game. At one point, it looked like they were going to be rolling off yet another 20 goal game and hold the opponent to under 5 goals. After the first half, everyone there to celebrate the seniors final regular season game thought they'd be able to sit back and enjoy the blowout. With a score of 11-2 at halftime, everyone thought the game was just about over...except for Catoctin. The Cougars came out in the 2nd half and made some great adjustments, especially at the face off 'X'. They dominated time of posession in the 2nd half, and with several lopsided penalties in Catoctin's favor, the Cougars climbed right back into the game. Nonetheless, when the final horn blew, Brunswick still stood victorious by the score of 15-10.

Coach Hartman's Thoughts on Catoctin Game:

"This truly was the game of two halves. It was really frustrating to see our players get off to such a great start and to have it start to slide away from us was disappointing. I know the players were down on themselves for letting go of a lead the way we did, but we still managed to send the Seniors out on a positive note. We have alot of work to do in preparation for the playoffs, and it all has to start culminating sooner than later. We need to get the killer mindset that we won't let any opponent breath when we have a lead. Learning to be ruthless and putting a team away is a hard thing to learn. We got lazy with our 11-2 lead last night and it showed. We will work hard the next few days and be prepared to play Catoctin again next week."
