On Thursday night the BHS Lacrosse program traveled to Walkersville to play the Lions. The JV team got the games underway as they attempted to win one of their last 3 games to finish with the first JV "winning record" since Jeff Hartman took over the lacrosse program in 2006. Their goal would not be met on Thursday as even though they hung tough, they were unable to overcome the Lions and fell with a final score of 11-5. The varsity team then looked to make a statement in a victory over Walkersville on their Senior night. Midway through the second quarter mother nature had a different idea. Lightning began to cover the sky and the game was suspended with Walkersville leading 5-2 with 7:08 remaining in the first half.
When the game concluded on Monday evening, Brunswick came out with a man advantage and cashed in their 4th goal as the man up expired. That made the score 5-4. Brunswick would not only tie the game up, but eventually take the lead 7-6, but only to see the lead evaporate in the late minutes of the 4th quarter. The game would go to overtime, and after Walkersville won the opening draw of the extra frame, BHS never got the ball back on offense. Walkersville took posession and after about 2 minutes cashed in on the game winning goal to make the final score 8-7 in favor of the Lions. The Loss wraps up the regular season for the BHS Varsity team, and makes their record 11-3.

Coach Hartman's Thoughts on the Walkersville Game:
"This was a great game to watch, especially the second half of the suspended game. There was alot of up and down action, but we played too sloppy in the 4th quarter to win. We struggled with our clears and possessing the ball on offense. I tip my hat to our defense (Austin Hunt, Kenny Floria, Jon O'Connell, Kyle Coats, and all of the midfielders) they played a phenomenal game. They were the ones that kept us in the game, but a few blunders ended up giving the game to Walkersville. I think we have alot of confidence heading into the playoffs, but we also realize that one game could end our season. We will find out how this team plays when it counts on Friday."
