For the first time this season the Brunswick Boys Varsity team played a lacrosse game on a Friday Night.  When that happens, it typically means that the playoffs have arrived.  The Boonsboro Warriors came to Brunswick beaming with confidence after defeating Catoctin in the first round of playoff action.  Brunswick, having a first round bye, was rested and ready to play when action got underway at BHS Stadium.  Although rested, the Railroaders came out of the gates rather sluggish and sloppy, but were able to overcome some of their early game jitters and put up a 8-2 score heading into halftime.  Not happy with just a 6 goal lead, the defense locked down, and the offense began rattling off goals to finally put the Warriors away with a final score of 18-4.  The win is Brunswick's first of the playoffs, and moves their overall record to 12-3 on the season.

Coach Hartman's Thoughts on the Boonsboro Playoff Victory:
"I've always said that in the playoffs you take a win no matter what.  I still believe that, but the reality of the situation is that our team needs to come out of the gates faster.  As we continue down this road in the postseason, it is important that we start to get a handle on ourselves early so we can play a more solid, well rounded game through 4 quarters, and not just part of the game.  I was proud of the defense today.  They are the unsung heroes of the team.  Our offense scores alot of points, but with Austin Hunt, Jon O'Connell, Kenny Floria, and Kyle Coats out there we have a very solid defensive unit.  One that is averaging less that 7 goals allowed per game.  Throw Anthony Malik into the mix as our goalie and we have a pretty special unit on the defensive end of the ball.  Our offense needs to play crisper, and make smarter decisions, but it is hard to complain when your team scores 18 goals.  We will be hosting Oakdale on Monday, and they want revenge from earlier in the season.  We need to be mentally and physicall sharp, and earn our way to the Regional Finals."
